Definitely more white-ish than gray. There is white border around the numbers. I kept the bubble wrap around the border because I returned it (which cost 60 to ship back) look elsewhere

I like the clock—mine came damaged, unfortunately—but it was an open box deal. Good to note, the metal rim on the sides is galvanized silver (I guess I expected matte black for some reason, although I am not sure if this is noted in it’s description). I agree with other reviewers, it’s not exactly matte white—more of like a vintage/worn look of creamy grey/brown/white maybe? In any case, there aren’t many clocks this size on the market—so it may be just what you are looking for!
