I’ve had the book case close to six months now. As you can see I don’t use it for book storage. I’ve added stick- on under shelf lights and I’m delighted at how it shows off my arts and crafts collection.

Very poor quality. The veneer is bubbling the glue is showing. I should have returned these cheap defective cabinets

Good looking bookcase. Looks just like picture.

The finish is a touch darker than the picture, with a touch of cherry. I'm using it in my kitchen, and filling with antiques & chickens. It is very heavy, so you will not want or be able to move it around easily. I was wanting something with doors, to limit having to dust everything all of the time. Pros: This is a beautifully crafted piece of furniture. It looks much better in person than the picture.

The dimensions and weight listed for this at the time of purchase were inaccurate. It is not a 36" cabinet but stands a full 68" tall and 42" wide. It also weighs only 104 lbs., not the 599 that was listed at that time. As of now, the dimensions have been changed, but the unit is still called "Entertainment 36" Bookcase" and is still listed at 599 lbs. Hopefully, that will be updated soon. That being said, it arrived as scheduled, fully assembled (except the removable/adjustable shelves). It was well packed with doubled corrugated and hefty corner protectors. The box showed 47kg, so that is how I know it is only 104 lbs. It was undamaged in shipping. It had a few minor assembly flaws, but nothing serious or readily visible. It looks as it does in the photo, but the stain is redder in tone, more cherry than what is pictured. It seems well built, solid, and mostly of solid oak, but the shelves are oak veneered plywood (but very thick and substantial) on top and front edges, and another type of veneer on the bottom of the shelves. They are adjustable and the supports also seem quite substantial. The shelf space itself is a little over 12" deep. Originally, I intended to use as an Entertainment (Stereo Equipment) Cabinet, but with a full back, 12" is a couple of inches too shallow for some A/V components. The shelves are heavy and deep enough for the largest of books. One other item of note, when empty and with both doors open, it is very easy to tip over forward. Without the shelves, it even tips over on its own when both doors are open. I'm sure this will not be an issue once it is loaded with books, but still it was somewhat disconcerting. All in all, it is a beautiful piece, substantial, and both elegant and homey at the same time. I gave it demerits for the few minor flaws (for that price I would expect none), and for the discrepancy between photo stain rendering and actual tone. I'm still quite proud to have it a part of my décor.
