I just want y'all to know how much I am enjoying my homemade ice cream. Even though the new ice cream maker with built-in compressor was more than I intended to pay, it was a great deal because originally the cost is over $200 and I got it from Wayfair for $141 (tax included). I just set the dial to cooling mode for 15 minutes with the bucket inside so it can start it's process, then I add my ingredients, set it to mixing mode for a few minutes, then the ice cream mode for 30 to 50 minutes and walk away. No need for tons of rock salt or ice and no chemicals/additives. The flavors you can make are only limited by your imagination. I use organic products and the milk comes from a local family dairy that quick pasturizes at low temp just enough to make the authorities happy. And it doesn't kill all the good bacteria. I have made coffee ice cream; raspberry chocolate chunk, vanilla, mango, strawberry-banana, and peanut butter. A couple of tips on the ice cream maker: make sure the motor assembly is snapped in completely otherwise the paddle won't turn. Make sure to set the machine to cooling mode with the bucket inside 15 minutes before adding ingredients. You will not get rock hard ice cream - it is more of a softer consistency but will freeze harder in the freezer. I use BPA free plastic containers with snap on lids. To avoid a hard freeze, put the container in a ziploc bag and squeeze most of the air out. The ice cream will always be scoopable.

I bought this to make frozen yogurt and it works great! It was a great price and I like the fact that you don't have to freeze the bowl for 24 hours like most ice cream makers. It only takes 20-30 minutes and I can enjoy healthy, high protein desserts.

For the price, it works great. The instruction manual and recipes are awful. Measurements are in grams!
