We are very happy with our Backyard Discovery Beaumont 14x12 pergola! The only negative would be the time it took to arrive, which was about six weeks. Otherwise, it is very well made and looks beautiful. You need at least three people to put together. I’m very pleased with this purchase as was my final big purchase and project in my garden renovation. The build was fairly straightforward and took about 7 hours to complete with 2 teens and myself. The only issue we encountered was that several pre drilled holes for the top lattices were a bit off center. However we were able to correct. We’ve been extremely happy with this pergola. We purchased it for our hot tub area, and after using it for several months, it’s holding up beautifully. The frame feels sturdy, the materials seem to be very good quality, and the size is perfect for creating a comfortable, inviting space. One of our favorite features is the built-in side bar surfaces—they’re incredibly convenient when we have friends over, giving us a safe place to set drinks and snacks while we relax in the hot tub. It also has a clean, modern design that really elevated the look of our backyard. We opted for professional installation, which made the whole process effortless and let us start enjoying it right away. One thing to keep in mind is that this isn’t a solid-roof pergola. The slatted roof provides some shade and looks beautiful, but it still lets plenty of sunlight through, so you’ll want to wear sunscreen if you’re spending a long time outside.
