This arbor is well-made and took only five minutes to assemble. We love it! But beware: it does NOT come with an anchoring kit, even though the description states that it does. 1 of 2 built! I’m disabled and I was able to build it myself. Very simple and extremely light. The hard part in my opinion was digging holes to anchor it in the ground and making sure it was level. This product would easily be a 5 star product if it had been shipped in protective foam (it came cracked in 4 places) and if the pre drilled holes were actually pre drilled. It was too much of a hassle to ship back so i accepted a partial refund and kept it. That said it’s only half assembled because of the missing pre-drilled holes. Given the cracks in it I won’t be shocked if it doesn’t survive a heavy wind storm. THAT said, the product is beautiful so i only took off the 1 star even though it was tempting to take off 2 stars. This arbor is exactly what I wanted for my native honeysuckle: solid wood, salt treated, not flimsy. Rounded edges, anchors included. I have very sandy soil where I put this arbor so I had to use extra anchors: 4 foot rebar pounded almost 3 feet in, and I think that'll do unless we get some serious weather. This has to be one of my favorite décor purchases of all time. I cannot overstate the degree to which this has elevated the back yard. It was relatively easy to assemble. Took 1 person under an hour with a ladder. It comes exactly as advertised and as pictured which is all too rare these days. It anchors deep and well in the ground. The packaging and quality of the cedar is very good. Like Teal, of Pomona, NY stated in their review: it’s a box of wood and bag of hardware and some very simplistic instructions. As a prolific builder and DIYfer I used my experience in assembling the arch. Fortunately, I have a pneumatic brad nailer with galvanized brads which made short time in nailing the many pieces together. I did not follow the slat spacing suggestions from the directions, rather having read the reviews, I made my own jig spacers after careful measurements. Pros: Good quality cedar; Looks excellent when completed; Assembly is straight forward once you figure out the spacing; Left unfinished the cedar will gracefully weather Cons: Directions need embellishment; Not for those wanting a quick assembly; Took over 6 hours to complete; Nails provided are not galvanized and should be of an outside product; Only 2 decorative wooden “arrows”---should be 4 for two on each side; Added longer and beefier exterior screws at the top/side joints for more strength. Reasonably easy to assemble. A couple steps it is helpful to have a second person. Close attention to photos will assure proper assembly. A ladder is helpful to attach top screws. Wear older clothing as some stain could come off on clothes (it is mostly dry). Looks good. I found the anchors bent in when hammering them down, so I could not get them flush with the wood, which provides less stability. Overall very pleased with arbor. IMPORTANT: Use caution when ordering by size. These are normally listed by their interior walk through measurements. In my case, after speaking with the manufacturer, I ordered the 60" Arbor to get what is listed by every other seller of their product as a 48" arbor, as the 60" arbor has a 48" width inside. Although I loved the finished product, the arbor was difficult to put together. Instructions on assembly were not included. The pieces had small white stickers on them that were numbered, however some of the numbers were written directly on the wood. I appreciate that all of the wing nuts/bolts come already in the holes; no digging around to grab anything while trying to hold two pieces together.
