I always read reviews before purchasing. I’m so glad I didn’t go with the ones saying the planter is orange which isn’t a bad thing as I was looking for brownish-orange planters which is their color! I wanted a place to make a peace garden for pet birds that passed the rainbow bridge. To honor them and these are perfect. So far one is planted with succulents. The other just has a pot. I had done a review previous but its gone. But inside are 3 shelves so you can have a tree planted and the lower shelf or both and the top has a more shallow depth but still great drainage. Or neither and a drain plug at the bottom. But being up high you have to ensure not leaking or losing plants. So well see what I plant in the other but I get hummingbirds up to 25th floor and they need shade, water and nectar. I also put out lint and super soft clean dog hair for nests which are a hit. Absolutely beautiful! I have the black version. It is lightweight, especially for the size. I love that the insert comes out easily. This helps get larger plants in place. It is only three pieces that you put together - the bottom screws on and the top insert you sit inside. Very simple. The booklet tells you a quick rinse is all you need to clean it, when needed. Solid product BUT significant defect is NO DRAINAGE HOLES. Without them, expect anything planted to sit in soggy roil and rot. Had to buy drill bit and drill it out myself. I used Vulcan brand #028365, which is a 7/16” bit (just shy of 1/2 inch), the largest bit that will fit on a standard drill. Any hole smaller will clog readily and be useless. This is an inexpensive home-user brand readily available at many hardware stores. “Speed steel with a 135 deg split point eliminates the need for center punch and keeps drill from skating on hard surfaces.” Recommended for metals, but package also states plastics. You want the split point to keep the drill from skidding on slick plastic surface. Pain in the neck, though. Why does anyone make a planter without drainage!!
