Many parts in the first couple of steps are located inside a box, inside the main part of the grill. I did not see them until I was further into the assembly. But overall, the assembly was fairly simple, and the directions were clear and easy. We just used our new grill for the first time this past weekend. Decently constructed, but not all stainless- there's plastic where they could get away with it. The glass seems like a good idea, but it gets dirty and doesn't clean well or easily. Glad that wasn't a deciding purchase factor. But the grates are good and after 4 years of frequent (2-4x per week) use, the burner shields are still holding up fine. I really like the grill. It ignites, cooks and looks great. And was a good value. I previously owned the E-310 which was about 15 years old. It was better built, with solid sides and what seemed to be higher gauge steel. I left the cover off the new grill one night and rain came into the case through the open sides.
