First. I am glad that I read the reviews especially the negative ones so I could see for myself if the problems are systemic for this product. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product, and it looks great. The product was well packed and there was no damage from shipping, but the package was long and bulky causing the delivery personnel to struggle getting it off the truck. There were only 2 screw holes (in the horizontal supports) that didn’t match up where the H1 bolt would not fit. Fortunately, the 2 places didn’t affect the integrity of the product. Two of the slats on the horizontal bars were welded slightly off (1/8”) making it impossible to use the longer H1 screws. I overcame this by using the spare shorter screws that are used to install upper panels. The use of plastic screws on the top ceiling metal sheets (top of the gazebo) are a waste of time and hold the panels in very well. Constructions tips: It does take four people to get the frame standing and installed. It only takes about 5 minutes to erect the post and insert them into place. So, get your neighbors to help for this major step. It also takes 2 people to set the top copula onto the frame. The rest of the construction can be done by yourself. One complaint I read was that the holes of the metal roof didn’t properly align up with the frame. Since I was aware of this, I didn’t tighten all the screws until all panels were installed. There is enough wiggle room to make the necessary adjustments to get all the screws into the holes. The same issue applies to the rafters when installing the support cross beams. Losen the brackets up so that the cross beams can be inserted into place. Be careful about cross threading the H1 bolts into the frame. I messed up on 1 and it’s not repairable. Use your fingers to start the bolt before using the 10mm tools to lock into place. It took me two 10-hour days to unpack, build, make minor adjustment, and clean up to complete this project. I also had a great time building this project since the finished product does look very impressive. I am happy with the product and would purchase again. This was the most well packaged and clearly marked build I have ever bought. Someone has OCD because it was ON POINT!! Directions were very easy to follow, and all the holes lined up. It was quite a journey from ordering to assembly. The Gazebo shipped in 2 boxes but, unfortunately, the first delivery had only Box #2. I contacted a Supervisor and was pleased with a substantial credit to my credit card for the inconvenience. I was told Sunjoy would only resend the entire order and that I could keep the original Box #2, no charge. As I was awaiting the replacement shipment on delivery day and had called to check on status of delivery, I was told by another Supervisor that the "Replacement Order" had arrived at the warehouse earlier in the week but the box and contents were damaged. So . . . Wayfair sent the damaged Gazebo back but failed to let the delivery company know. The Supervisor, again, pleased me with an additional substantial credit to my credit card for the inconvenience. The 3rd shipment arrived and a contractor (and 2 man crew) I had hired began assembly. Here are key points on the assembly process: 1.) The assembly took a full 2.5 days to complete by a licensed contractor and crew. 2.) The Manual is absolutely needed for success! It would be helpful if the dimensions (length) were added to the parts descriptions. 3.) Buyers should be aware that IF the Gazebo is being placed on a surface that is NOT completely level, it may be necessary to trim the wooden posts, per laser level results, to assure complete balance and a safe structure. 4.) VERY important to secure legs to ground as the large roof area will be affected by strong winds. 5.) Roofing Sheet Metal Panels - Good news, bad news: The panels are lighter weight and and prone to denting and possible scratching on the finish so HANDLE W/ CARE! All the panels are shipped with a plastic film on both sides of each panel. This protects the glossy finish from scratching (Good) but it is a VERY time and labor intensive process (Bad). Definitely worth it in the end but build in extra time in the assembly process. 6.) The wooden posts, supports and joists are a soft wood finish and may "bruise", so handle w/ care. Overall, we are pleased with the Sunjoy 12x20 Gazebo! It provides a good sized space for a couch, 2 lounger chairs, 2 ottomans, cocktail table, end table and rattan storage box. It also has room for a 5'x3' table and 6 chairs. We added an overhead fan/light combo (additional support beams were installed by the electrician), 4 electrical outlets, and Bistro style dimmer style string lighting for additional light and ambiance. Garage is first come first server, so needed a carport to protect whoever loses for the day. I was looking into another model from Sunjoy sold through a large box store, but after looking at their other products decided on Autocove due to more head room at the entrance due to the angled front rafter. The other model went straight across. My driveway pad angles down in 2 directions, so I had to DIY footers to make It level. Used 12” concrete form tubes, QK5000, 4 little vertical rebar in each piling drilled into exiting pad, and concrete2concretre bond agent. Used Laser level from highest point to know how tall each needed to be. Added 1x6 black stained slats which are NOT part of the product. Also used different 6x6 base mounts that only needed 1 big 5/8 hole drilled into concrete instead of 4 each pillar. The hardest part of my overall project was drilling the holes into existing concrete. You will be over installing bolts by the time you are done, but straight forward. The other reviewer’s video showing assembly (slowed way down!) was very helpful. Great Carport for the price and not hard to do. It took a few months to get up the desire to tackle this project. The instructions were pretty straight forward, mainly pictures without words. I'd say assembly was on the easier side. Instructions said it would take 4 to 6 people to assemble, I did it completely by myself with no issues. I think it took me about 10 total hours over 2 days to completely assemble. There were several parts that were not marked with the same letters as in the instructions but easy enough to figure out. The "V" posts were actually "W" posts and a couple other issues like that. There was also one length of wood that was about 1" too long and I had to trim it off to assemble. a nice looking gazebo and I'd probably purchase it again.. William. Sun Sep 08 2024

Gazebo looks great! It is made completely of metal, but the wood/wicker design is very realistic. It arrived well packaged with the box attached to a small wooden pallet to keep the pieces from being damaged. Update After a snow and ice storm in December 2025 the roof caved in. My husband put the frame together by himself in a few hours. This gazebo was just what our deck needed. The sun made the deck too hot to enjoy during the day and now with this addition we can spend a lot more time out there.
