Outdoor Flags

Before purchasing an outdoor flag consider which material suits you best. The best material for your outdoor flag depends on your typical weather conditions and display environment. If you are in an area that is exposed to frequent storms or high winds, polyester is the choice for you. Made from heavy-duty fabric, outdoor polyester flags will require more wind to fly. If you live in areas with little to moderate winds and the occasional storm you will benefit from choosing the beacon nylon material that will dry quickly and fly in the slightest breeze. Cotton is not recommended for all weather use. When exposed to rain the color of the flag might drip. This is recommended for short-term display only. The lightweight polyester/cotton blend material used to create a typical flag makes it the economical choice for short term display. Another popular material is burlap, this material has a rustic charm and it's quite durable. Burlap varieties often boast colorful images that have been heat-transferred onto the material.

Since these decorations spend a lot of time out in the elements, they are bound to need washing once in a while (although not very often!). Nylon can be washed in the washing machine--cold water on the gentle cycle. It should not be put in the dryer, as that may cause melting. Burlap doesn't usually require cleaning, but if you have a spot stain, it can be rubbed with a washcloth soaked in vinegar and water. Burlap should never be placed in the washing machine.

If you are looking for a simple design, not a problem. Wayfair offers outdoor flags which are simple and can blend in with any outdoor design. While many decorative flags have vivid imagery, there are also quite a few minimalistic designs that would be perfect for your home. Monogrammed options are very simple, with a timeless, classic design that adds sophistication to your outdoor environment.
