I paid for assembly and the person was able to build it without any issues. The drawers below are a little flimsy, but love the extra added storage under the bed. We have not put the bunk bed together yet. We paid for Angies to assemble it but three times they were going to come to assemble the bed and each time cancelled. Poor quality. Items arrived damaged (first two photos) and woodpaint chips easily if you accidentally over tighten it (see last photo). If I hadn’t already been halfway through construction before I saw the second box and all the damage, I would have returned it. The number stickers on the parts use such poor adhesive that when you peel them off, they all leave residue so you’ll spend hours scraping them off and using goo-gone. Solid bed. Very good quality and sharp looking. We can’t wait to get our new mattress for it. I highly recommend using a ratcheting screwdriver and Allen wrench bit to put it together, though, as the turnkey Allen wrench they provide will make you wish you had paid someone else to put it together (we actually did pay for the assembly, but Angi didn’t find anyone in our area, so we assembled it ourselves).. It was just what we needed, but then we moved....... We are still using it in our new place, but boy can I see what a space saver this would have been in her other room. Not that her current room is large or anything. My soon to be 9 year old daughter is enjoying it , but compared to another bunk I bought through wayfair, it is far less sturdy. I tried to jam it hard into a corner to add as much support as possible. My husband and I also double checked all the connections, but you can feel the pressure on the ladder as you climb up to the top. This bothers me a little, but she is still small enough. It might be a bigger issue for a teenager. For me, it is a notable issue, so I'll place this piece at a 4 star. However, overall, the piece does the trick on space saving with a desk included.
