8-Zone Smart Sprinkler Controller, Wi-Fi Connectible Smart Irrigation System With Automatic Water Timer

I installed the product in the spring and like it very much.

Very simple installation. Rich functionality. Smart system, can be controlled by voice assistance

We were forced to replace our Sprinkl with this crap. Our Sprinkl would automatically not run when it had rained. It rained all day yesterday, and this stupid thing ran the sprinklers this morning. They should reimburse us in full for our Sprinkl and then Moen should quietly exit the sprinkler controller business. They clearly aren’t serious since they don’t even have a valid option for room in their review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The controller itself: Pros: Easy to install, clean look, bright LED is easy to see. Cons: No local controls at all, power cord is fairly short, would have been nice if it included the correct sized screw driver for the terminals. The App: Pros: Fairly intuitive, most of the features / functionality one would expect, nice notifications of start / end of cycles, etc. Cons: Doesn't consistently show you what's running or offer the ability to stop the running schedule. The app changes the schedule run time and may cycle through certain zones without explanation as to what it's doing. For example, I configured one of my zones as "sloped" yard. It appears that it will water for about a minute, do the rest of the zones, and then come back to the first one and water for a minute, then let it rest for a while, water again, etc. I had to sort of intuit why it was doing that for the first zone only. It's also not very verbose about what adjustments it's making to the schedule due to weather information it has gathered. Lastly, It bugs me that I had to create yet another account for this app, but that's the way of the IoT world I guess. The in-app advertising of Moen products is also annoying, it tries to sell you soil moisture sensors every time you open the app. oh - another con for the controller - it has an RJ45 connector on the unit but it says "unused", I would LOVE to have the option to use hard wire ethernet over wifi. overall, I enjoy using the product and am glad to have it, will wait patiently for some polish on the app

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking forward to using this product as I have had many Moen faucets through the years and they are excellent. I assumed this would be equally impressive. Unfortunately it is not even close to the faucet level of quality and performance. Everything today is focused around water conservation and this is NOT a smart timer. The ONLY smart feature is the rain delay. I thought I could avoid the overwatering issue with the new soil moisture meters, but it looks like you need to spend significantly more PER ZONE to get those to work. There are so many things that Moen could have done. There is a science to smart watering, but with this timer smart does not apply. EPA Watersense certification would be a good start. Instead Moen acquired a smart timer (Sprinkl), applied their name on it and called it good. Installation was fairly simple. The instructions could be better. The app is poorly designed and integrated. Resets information all the time, slow to respond. It randomly switches from metric to imperial units. It can connect to a local weather station, but the app always reads the rainfall as 0 precipitation. Doesn't matter if it rains 2 inches, the app will still run as schedule. Poor choice on my part. Going to use something else that is certified and actually has some science behind it - one that saves water.

I got this controller as a courtesy because sprinkl was bought out by moen. I cannot say anything about the controller itself as it seems to be working like it should but the app to run this controller is horrid. So many bugs need to be addressed and it seems this app was rushed. Please stop hiding behind paid reviews and fix your app or your going to kill this product.

It was very easy to replace my old manual sprinkler controller with this one and then I just had to download an app which made controls so easy. I love being able to start and stop my sprinkler system from anywhere with my phone. I am currently waiting for my soil sensors to come in so that the sprinkler system will adjust itself to how much water each plant needs automatically. I am not someone with a green thumb, but with this system I can’t wait to see the results of my garden!

Are used to be that you had to go through endless menus and sit there by the box now everything can be controlled by your phone. This is really an amazing product and I'm very happy.

You do need to have a smartphone and wifi for the app to work. I like the product, the package, the brand, the documentation, instructions, the look, the performance, the materials, and the results. This is the one if you want it done. Fantastic.is how one can describe the Moen Smart Sprinkler Controller.

Essential setting are buried away where one would never think to look for them. To add to frustration, once a change is made, it is rarely kept. Have to go back sometimes several times to verify it registered. Example: CALLED SUPPORT TO ASK HOW I CAN STOP MANUAL WATERING AS OPTION WOULD NOT SHOW FOR RUNNING ZONE. WAS TOLD "UNPLUG CONTROLLER", WE'RE WORKING ON IT. Uninstall, reinstall, stop option reappeared, but disappeared again next day. Bought on MOEN rep as I have had great support in past. This is a stain on that rep.
