This planter has a matte finish and emits moisture from its surface when first filled with soil. I recommend sitting it on a small plate just until it gets acclimated; no problems since then. Nice design.

Love the style! Its not meant to hold water but maybe will hold a plastic nursery pot with drainage inside it. I wasnt fond of how much dust regularly rubs off on hands and clothing if you brush against it, but Im not going to touch it all the time so thats not a huge dealbreaker.
