Best Fence Post Cap Lights With Reviews

Arrived on time. It is very easy to assemble. It is a soft glow. Not as bright as I hoped. Lights run through a rubber tube, making it durable for the outdoors. It is similar, but not made exactly as a rope light.

I put these on my fence posts surrounding my back yard. I put them on every 3rd post. It has been about 6 months and all are working fine. I live on a corner that is a bit dark at night and these give off just the right amount of illumination as well as providing some nice ambience.

I bought these as replacements for older ones that had discolored from the sun. I liked the idea of them being aluminum, however, only the dome is. The bulk of the cap is plastic , including the "glass", so will potentially discolor like the old set. They do not sit as far down onto the post making screw placement a tad tricky..That being said, they charged up quickly and have a bright, clear light and look very pretty .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the subtle amount of down lighting to indicate the posts. I mounted these where my gates are to accentuate the entrances/exits to my deck. I wish the all lights would have held their solar charge for a similar amount of time into later hours of night.

Not super fancy but simple and elegant. They appear well made, much nicer than the plastic ones we first purchased, and they do fit nicely on our two 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 wooden gate posts. I installed them and left the switch in the off position for a few days to let the batteries charge as per the instructions. When I turned the switch to the auto position the lights came on after dark and ran nicely well into the night. The next day we had our first snowfall of the season. Being pretty flat on top, snow and some ice did collect on the solar panel and thus the lights did not stay on as long that night and very little the following night. Not wanting to climb up to clear them every snowfall, I decided to remove the battery from each light. We obviously don't get light from them now, but they still look nice from the street during the day and they should help seal the top of the post. I'll fire them back up after the snowy season and I suspect we'll then get some good run time again. The amount of light they emit is not large.....more effect/decorative lighting which does looks quite nice.

I like the solar post caps overall...just deducting one star regarding two items I would like to see improved on in the future developments... The light output through the stained glass could perhaps be just a bit brighter...or more of a cooler "daylight" output on the spectrum...and the assembly quality of the screws interferes with me being able to twist and lock the cap to the post adapter. I had to remove some of the worst screws that just do not set flush. Attached picture for reference. Also attached some other pictures of the caps on my fence job.
