I wanted a dining light with a modern look, low profile and lighting options. This fit the requirements. Assembly is easy enough. I read on one review that once you shorten the cables you can't lengthen them again. This is not true. The surface is coated with black paint, which prevents the iron surface from rusting. It is a good gift for families and friends.

A lot of comments are correct that the wood looks a little fake. We stained it darker and think it looks fine.
