Installation was a bit of a bear in my older home. However, its installed and functional. The entire fixture is plastic which Im not sure if thats good or bad yet. Loved the look of this, although - FYI - make sure you pay attention to the specs. I'd been looking at so many specs I must have forgotten to check these, and it is way smaller than expected. Would have still worked, though, except: Oh, the flicker. Do NOT buy this is you are remotely susceptible to flicker. And I *haven't* ever been, historically, although I do get motion sick fairly easily. I installed this light over the laundry, and the flicker is so bad it looks like a strobe light when you're trying to fold patterned clothes, and makes me feel nauseated for 30-40 minutes afterwards, even if I'm in there for just a few minutes.
