It is also very easy to turn on and off thanks to the convenient foot switch, which makes it especially practical when you’re sitting on the sofa or relaxing nearby. Stained glass is handcrafted using the same technique that was developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900s. Glass types and colors are designed using metallic salts during manufacturing. Each piece of real glass is hand-cut, and copper foil is wrapped around each piece. The glass pieces are then welded by hand to create one-of-a-kind designs. As part of the finishing process, oil is added to the outside of the design to protect the metal from erosion. The beauty of stained glass is its versatility when illuminated by light. Stained glass will become more vibrant when lit.

Very cute lamp that was easy to put together. I recommend using an Edison bulb as the bulb “shows off” and a regular one wouldn’t look great. The color is listed as red but this is more of a fuchsia. One added detail that could’ve made this a nicer lamp is the step pad is the unsightly plastic that you want to keep hidden-not ideal for needing it to turn it on and off.. Hanna. Asheville, NC. The giant flame lamp is inspired by the power and beauty of fire. The importance of the flame has been understood for centuries. The handwoven abaca rope, with its different hues of brown, represents firewood, which was the base material used for warmth and lighting, protection from predators, and a method of cooking food. The intriguing shape of the flame lamp, as it dances from left to right and from wide to narrow, is the fire's flame. It is textured and colored by hand placing real, non-toxic dyed, cocoa leaves on the shade. Both the leaves and abaca are sourced using fair trade practices in the Philippines. Finally, the tip of the lamp is accented by abaca rope, this time, representing the smoke that escapes the heat. Humankind was able to advance, innovate, and civilize by harnessing fire. Continue the tradition by lighting up any room with the inspiring presence of the flame lamp. The entire lamp is crafted using wrought iron, powder coated for durability. The tip and base of the lamp are crafted using abaca rope, handwoven through a wrought iron frame. The shade is made of fossilized cocoa leaves that are hand-placed on a standard UL lamp backing and then laminated using a non-toxic adhesive, creating each of the three sides of the lamp. This lamp is set on an abaca-wrapped base and can be turned on/off with a foot switch.
