Updated review: I received a replacement set which arrived very well packaged and in excellent condition and included the instructions which the original did not have. After reading the instructions I realized that the original set was in fact functional, the lights have a very discreet on/off button that I didn’t notice before it’s well hidden. The button is on the bottom where the stake goes in. For the hassle I’m giving it three stars but the lights do work very well and customer service came through like they always do. Absolute disaster with packaging. This is what it looked like as soon as I opened the box. There was nothing inside the big box to keep the lights from moving around. Put the lights outside in the sun for over 6 hours but they did not turn on at all at night. None out of a set of 6. Simple, clean, and efficient. The Canopy LED Path Light features a low-profile form factor that mounts directly into the ground and illuminates downward into the surrounding area. This path light is powered by bright long-lasting integrated LEDs and can conveniently tap into any existing 12V landscape lighting system. Factory-sealed and watertight with an IP66 rating for protection against high-pressure water jets and outdoor elements. Cast using a special k-alloy aluminum that is engineered to withstand the most challenging environments over time. Solid brass coated in bronze (-BBR finish) may be available for enhanced protection against corrosive elements and is recommended for use in coastal or marine environments. Includes a 9" mounting spike and a 3ft lead wire with two gel-filled direct burial wire nuts. A magnetic or electronic power supply is required (sold separately) for 12V fixtures. This lantern is a perfect size for the bottom of my staircase. It is made of aluminum and is very well made. It is so easy to assemble. The latern gives off a nice bright light once it is outside. It is very attractive and stands about waist high. I like the fact that it nice looking and does a great job of lighting up the path to the stairs. This is the perfect solution to the dark area near my driveway. This is just perfect so Ive decided rather than permanently anchoring it, to secure it to a nicely cut tree stump. I can move it to where I need it and secure it easily. We had a tremendous wind storm the night it was installed and there were no problems whatsoever.
