I thought the black shades had yellow metal inside, but they are fully black. This actually turned to advantage as they reflect any color light bulb you put inside. We wanted new shades for our dinette chandelier. I had recently replaced the crystals to nicer, more sparkly ones, and with the white shades it was a bit washed out and too dressy.
