Believe it or not, sometimes all it takes to give your room a fresh feeling is making a change to the lighting. But rather than hunting for another, on-trend luminary, why not just swap out a tired shade for a new one? This 12'' shade, for example, is a great option for a modern look atop your favorite luminary. Crafted from black parchment with a gold interior, this tapered drum shade features brass hardware. A spider fitter and harp help this piece cap off your lamp right out of the box.

Clean, crisp and modern, this drum lamp shade comes in a white faux silk fabric

Let me start off by saying that lamp shades are perhaps one of the hardest things to shop for, especially when you cannot physically try different shades on the lamp you need them for. This lamp shade was great – well made, looked really good, no surprises or problems. I reallllllly wanted to like it. It just, as it so, so often goes in this particular avenue of shopping, did not fit my lamp. But I wanted to leave this review because it was a great lamp shade. I have learned that 9 out of 10 times, start up from the size you think you need... I am almost always let down when I buy the size I *think* was what I needed.. Meagan. Chicago, IL. Mon Sep 28 2026
