This is my second purchase for this specific medallion- it is small but works in compact spaces like closets and entryways. I really like it because I use faux styrofoam ceiling tiles to cover ugly ceilings after scraping popcorn texture (and to avoid drywall repair and re-texturing). The Fanimation Close to Ceiling Kit replaces the standard hanger bracket and downrod, allowing the fan to be mounted closer to the ceiling—ideal for spaces with lower ceilings. It includes both tall and short kits and is offered in a wide range of finishes.

This shade was a great replacement for the old, yellow one that broke. It features a soft, bright matte white finish. Although it comes with a cap equipped with two holes for pull chains, only the center chain is functional because the opening is too narrow to use the fan chain—at least for my model of fan. I thought the black shades had yellow metal inside, but they are fully black. This actually turned to advantage as they reflect any color light bulb you put inside.
