Just received this lamp. But it doesn't look like the picture. First of all, the finish colour is supposed to be nickel with a thin rim. Still, I got a rough chrome finish, which was disappointing because I had carefully selected the colours and style for my updated interior. It doesn't look as elegant and beautiful as the picture. This is a very heavy light so I put it all together and screwed in the light bulbs before hanging it. I really needed something asymetrical in my dinning room because my dinning room table does not perfectly fit in the center of the room because of needing walkway to the back yard. My house is also midcentury modern so this light was absolutely perfect. One thing I did learn is that if you have a dimmer switch you need to buy light bulbs that will accomodate that - it's not a light thing but a bulb thing so make sure you buy the correct bulbs..
