The, “twist to lock” the components together should be stronger and more solid. The finial is made of plastic, two pieces snapped together. I learned this when the finial dropped and split in half. The product is working fine, but it was much larger than I expected. One of the lights did not work because the battery that came with it did not work. When I replaced the battery with a new one, it worked fine. It is cheaply constructed, so I don't know how long it will last and it is not usable in the winter months. Other than that it works OK..
