This chandelier showed up so well packaged, I was blown away. Two cardboard boxes within a large cardboard box, separated by a piece of Styrofoam. The top box had all of the parts shown in the pictures above, and the bottom box held the glass seeded shades for the lights, each tucked into Styrofoam and with Styrofoam inserts. Nothing was scratched or broken. Made of a lightweight aluminum material and coated in a bronze finish, it should be an easy installation as the fixture will not be heavy. Months ago, I purchased a Kichler chandelier, and it was so cheaply made, with plastic parts, that one of the eyes broke and we were unable to finish the installation. This ship light is made of real wood but not sealed with poly acrylic sealer non yellowing so I lightly sanded it and added 2 coats and wow it came to life so beautiful now it will be so easy to clean the only miner problem is it’s not made for the round junction box the hole is bigger than the rectangle plate that goes over the American round junction box so we will add a decorative molding or another larger rectangular plate to the ceiling I love this unique design. Very nice and just as described. Assembly was very time consuming and not the easiest when it comes to threading the wire up through the posts. This was packaged well and all the parts were there with the instructions and a white glove. Due to unfortunate events, we were not able to install this light fixture as of yet but plan to in the next few weeks at which point I will update my review accordingly to be more helpful. I think we will end up painting the wooden piece black because the brown color of the wood is a very strange and odd fake looking color (this is made of real wood) and does not match our oak wood we have in the dining room as I had hoped. I already purchased light bulbs and hoping with the bottoms of the lanterns being opened, the light does shine down nice and bright onto the table. UPDATE: We painted this black and hung it up, the instructions were clear but the screws were not long enough and fortunately we had some on hand that would work. This fixture is heavy and solid, and I like this fixture much better black as the brown color and metal on the sides was an odd color (not red or brown - like in between orange color). The light bulbs you have to buy and we got the ones based on instructions (Edison bulbs) and they are nice and bright. Light up the room and table underneath (which was important to me).
