Stained glass is handcrafted using the same technique that was developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900s. Glass types and colors are designed using metallic salts during manufacturing. Each piece of real glass is hand-cut and copper foil is wrapped around each individual piece. The glass pieces are then welded by hand to create one-of-a-kind designs. As part of the finishing process, oil is added to the outside of the design to protect the metal from erosion. The beauty of stained glass is its versatility when illuminated by light. Stained glass will become more vibrant when lit.

An attractive lamp, with intricate glass work on the shade and additional cross hatching and fluting details on the lamp stem. Simple to assemble and it casts a wide soft uplight. Love these! Beautiful stained glass shades, all metal base cover, shade support and poles; well constructed. They paid attention when they made these, and it shows. I ordered two other Wayfair stained glass torchieres that were not these, and they were poorly constructed and mostly plastic. These look very elegant. They are a tad on the small side, but they make up for it with quality, style and solid construction. I bought three and wish I had bought all five lamps of this style instead.. Don. Elk Grove, CA. As other reviewers have said the lamp is easy to topple. It’s top front heavy but we don’t have any issues with it in the corner if no one bumps it. It’s shorter than I imagined but it’s a beautiful blue I was worried when people claimed it’s purple but it’s more indigo. The glass is beautiful.. Shauna. CA. Thu Apr 16 2026
