In cloudy weather or winter, charging time may be longer and working time may be shorter, which is normal for solar lamps and should not be considered as quality problem. 3. If the ground is too hard, do not twist or hammer it with force. Try to soften the ground with water and then insert into the ground. 4. Be sure to turn on the switch and install it in a locatioon where the sun can shine directly on the solar panel.

These were perfect! I actually drilled holes in the wood on top of my pool fence and set them through the holes about 6 feet apart and on either side of the gateway ,instead of putting them in the ground, and it looks really cool at night. Edit despite being cheaply made they really do put off a nice flame like glow. For that we love them. One was broken when I opened the package. They are very cheaply made. They are charging in the sun. Ill know soon how the lighting is. I recently ordered 2 other types of solar lights and paid about half of what these cost. They project a very nice pattern. If the light gets a decent amount of sun during the day, it will last all night. If it's in the shade, maybe not. The different light intensities and colors are very fun. I used green to go across my lawn and white to go down the side of my driveway. I did have one stop working. I took two screws out of the back of the top and found the cable from the battery to the circuit board had disconnected. I plugged it back in, the light came on and has been good ever since. Yay!!!.
