It features a ratan shade with a black hardware. Mounting can be adjusted from one to three feet in pole length, making it easy to fit any type of ceiling hight. This is being used in a bonus room, however, it would look great over a kitchen island as well. Really, you could put it anywhere indoors. Installation isn't super easy but if you know what you're doing and have electrical experience, it shouldn't be too hard. It came with good instructions for installation. Hunter is a brand that I trust and so I know this will last for years to come. The lighting it gives is very soft and warm. But you could change the bulb to whatever brightness suits your needs.. This looks very pretty in our entrance, especially with the pattern of light it throws on the ceiling! Especially like the rope wrapping glass in this entryway location to protect the lamp from breakage as we bring in those larger deliveries from Wayfair ;-).
