Through the transparent glass shade, you can peek inside the bulb. There is a smooth cut on the bottom of each shade, allowing the bulb to emit heat downward. The glass globe cluster pendant can accommodate seven bulbs (not included) up to 40W, providing ample light to space. I really like the light fixture as it really pulled my dining room together. One of the globes was broken during shipping. I am waiting for the replacement globe from the manufacturer to arrive, it’s been a couple of weeks. I hope it arrives soon. Even with that globe missing I still appreciate the fixture and would recommend it to anyone looking for a modern fixture. It was easier to put up than I anticipated. I used saw horses to help with the set up and left enough slack so I could adjust it when it was hung from the ceiling.
