I bought two of these lamps, one for the foyer and one for the top of stairs. The glass is nice and thick, though if you use a candelabra bulb the tips of the bulbs push against the glass bowl and you can see it from below. It was an easy installation, but one of the connectors between the canopy and downrod was stuck at an angle (pictured). This won’t work at the foyer location because you can see a heavily angled lamp from the stair. The second lamp has a slight angle but turned out to be adjustable. I have very poor lighting in my house and was thinking of installing recessed lighting, but then I found this, which is a much less expensive option. Update couldnt wait any longer. I asked a professional how to install thos light they told me exactly how to do and I did it. It was actually easy. The only hard part was holding my arms up to attach to the ceiling, and getting over the fear that im going to electrocute myself. I shook the fear off and I did it. It took me a little longer because I didnt have a ladder but if I did it would have been done in a flash. My daughter loves it. What I like about it is that it has several light options. You know when you have your light on but its just not bright enough or its to bright. This light fixes all of that with the different light settings. My daughter likes the color option the best. Great for all ages. 5 stars. my daughter really wants this light so I ordered it because I thought it was plug-in type . Its not its hardwire. I dont know anything about electrical installation so I was going to send it back and being that Wayfair has no problem with keeping there customers happy thats one of the main reasons I always shop there first I was given the opportunity to return. With easy instructions. However my son told his sister he will put it up for her when he gets back from deployment so I know this light has got to be 5 stars because shes waiting.
