Out of the box, I’m really excited about this wall sconce. The matte black finish looks beautiful against the brushed gold accents, and the modern transitional style will work perfectly in my boys’ room as a reading light. I love that the swing arm adjusts easily so they can rotate it while reading. The only thing I wish is that the lamp head swiveled, so it could be angled instead of just providing downlighting—but that wasn’t advertised, and I didn’t consider it when ordering, so no need to deduct stars for that. I can’t speak to the hardwiring just yet, since we plan to mount it and use a smart bulb until we finish trimming out their room. At that point, we’ll hardwire it. We wanted to elevate the look in our dining area. These fluted wall sconces really did the trick! The space went from meh to marvelous. Installation was easy. Removing them from the bracket to charge is a simple task. Although each sconce came with it’s own remote and batteries, we are able to use one to operate both. If they are used often, I would suggest charging at night and replacing them on the wall the next morning. This will allow for longer use.
