This lantern is a perfect size for the bottom of my staircase. It is made of aluminum and is very well made. It is so easy to assemble. The latern gives off a nice bright light once it is outside. It is very attractive and stands about waist high. I like the fact that it nice looking and does a great job of lighting up the path to the stairs. This is the perfect solution to the dark area near my driveway. This is just perfect so Ive decided rather than permanently anchoring it, to secure it to a nicely cut tree stump. I can move it to where I need it and secure it easily. We had a tremendous wind storm the night it was installed and there were no problems whatsoever. I have not yet had installed, but my initial thoughts are well made and high end. I was a bit surprised based upon the description stating “lights” that this is only one light (thus I subtracted one star). The light itself measures 2 feet in height and is downward lighting. I must not have read the description thoroughly as I believed this to be a solar powered light, but in actuality is hard wired.
