The lamp is fairly thin metal construction, and the mounting base is a little flimsy/thin. I elected to direct mount over the receptacle as the included mounting hardware that is included was a bit to short to properly mount it to my porch wall. The mounting screws and nuts are a bit to short for my application. However the style, and lamp work very well for me. These outdoor lights are very pretty and look great on the house. They have a clean, classic design that matches everything well. Installation was straightforward and easy, which I really appreciated. My only complaint is with the quality of the cap screws that secure the fixture to the mounting plate.
