It works, but you have to be intentional about how you mount it. All three joints move in a single direction, so don’t assume you will have the ability to change the direction later on. I was able to put together this wall sconce farily easily. I did need to add a plug and cord to is as I wanted it to be a plug in by following a failry simple DIY tutorial online.
