These lights were pretty easy to install and work very well. You mount them on posts that you stake into the ground, and during the day the solar panel atop the lights collects rays from the sun, charging the battery within so that energy can be utilized as light when it gets dark. The lights have an internal light sensor so that they turn on automatically at dusk, and off at dawn.

Wow, the amount of light these solar lights produce is incredible! This is a versatile set of large solar lamps. You can add or take out a pole piece to make them stand taller or shorter. Thats exactly what I did on my patio, one is very tall, and two are shorter to fit in my flowers in my planters. These are much brighter than any solar lamps I have ever had. From the photos, it looked like these came with a standing base. These must be placed in soil or sand (possibly rocks) using the bottom stake, or they won't stand up on their own. These are large, classy, and put out so much light! I really like that the light is bright white, rather than a warmer color.
