I purchased two of these over a "sit at bar" in the kitchen area. I didn't want to have them be too distracting, yet needed a practical non imposing light that I won't feel I need to replace anytime soon. It's very solid, and is crafted very well. Goes well in my traditional/transitional home. The incandescent light bulb is perfect, as it doesn't bask an obnoxious bright white light, often seen with halogens and led bulbs. I wanted a pendant light for over my sink to replace a florescent fixture. I looked at 1000’s of pendant lights for months! For me the pendant needed to be a dark fixture to go with my black cabinet hardware. It needed to not block my view out the window, not be a light bulb hanging in front of my face, bright enough to mimic my old florescent fixture, dimmable, and attractive.
