Ended up buying these as they were on sale and they looked similar to some of the other more expensive options out there. After receiving the item I can confidently say the quality is great and can expect them to last for years to come. The top and bottom are sealed with a screw like cover that seems to have gaskets that help seal the openings and keeping water from getting in. There are screws provided, but no instructions on which screws are meant for which part. LOVE this light. The color is very versatile in a slate grey tone. It is elegant yet still has a hint of rustic style. The larger size really works well to frame out a renovated entry for my low roofline home. I did find that the small screw caps need to be really tightened well or they fall off (I'm going to ask for replacement-a minor item and more related to installation).
