The "gold" is not gold, it's orange metallic (painted I think). I included a picture next to an actual gold lamp and another piece of decor with gold. It could be great in black. And if orange is your thing, you may love this. But if you're wanting a gold lamp, do not get this. Other than the color, it's seems like a nice lamp.
