Auckland Handmade Jute/Sisal Maize/Wheat Area Rug

The tag says 100% sisal. I've had other sisal rugs which were more coarse and were great for my cat (he would claw at them, saving my carpet and furniture). However, after a couple months on the floor, my cat NEVER claws at this rug, which makes me wonder a bit about the the "100% sisal" tag. Having looked at many "sisal" rugs on Wayfair.com, many of which seem to use the word "sisal" very loosely on the product description, I would go so far as to say that Wayfair does very little to help shoppers identify real sisal. This item may be some type of authentic sisal, more so than many other rugs described as "sisal", anyway. Just don't get your hopes too high in terms of cat usage, if that's what you're looking for.

I love my rug, it was the best choice I made buying this rug. I use for my front entrance and fits perfect!

The rug was a bit more gold than wheat but nonetheless we kept it.

This rug was delivered October 28, 2020 so I’ve had it now about 4 months. You can see where the tape on the rug is shredding. It’s in a spot where it gets no traffic so I would think it’s a defective tape. I called Wayfair and since it was past their return date they said to contact Safavieh directly and gave me the purchase order and other necessary information. After sending photos and all information Safavieh responded they don’t do returns or refunds so I am out of luck. I am passing this information along so buyer beware. It’s a beautiful rug but it does not hold up.

Just what I was looking for Nice blend. Not too heavy. The jute is firm but not hard. Love not having to add a pad as there is a no-skid backing. True to color. Perfect for our sunroom done in shades of blue, gray, cream and muted yellow.

This rug looks just right in my keeping room, but the plain styling and natural wheat straw color would work well anywhere. The texture is a little rough for a bedside rug, but fine for a living room, dining room or hallway. I have it on a 3/8" cushiony rug pad I already owned, but the rug itself has a non-skid backing. It unrolled without any wrinkles and lay flat right away. There was no noticeable odor.

Great rug for a beach house or Florida living.

My only concern is keeping it clean as my vacuum cleaner is the one that is noted as shouldn’t be used! Maybe i should have read cleaning instructions first! Otherwise it looks really nice in kitchen.
