The size is perfect for an entry way table or to put next to an end table in a bedroom or living room, not small and dinky.

The shade is a plain, white cloth material. It is a tri-light and has three light settings. The lamp was protected during shipping with styrofoam and cardboard. HIGHLY recommend!
