The packing was extremely well done. The socket section, had the wire attached & was already threaded thru the main body part. But the socket had to be screwed onto the body. It became difficult to do because the cord was running thru the body & the socket straight....so in order to attach while screwing it on, the cord was being twisted inside the body of the lamp. I don't think that was very well thought out.
