The headboard and footboard are not as solid as they looked in the picture. Having said that, the overall bed is pretty solid. The slats for the bed are fine except for the middle two. For some reason, there is no support under these two. I will be building my own support. If you are using a box spring, it shouldn't be a problem. But if you are putting a mattress directly on it, you may want to support these two slats. Also, I was short one screw. Thankfully it was just a tiny woodscrew and easily found at a hardware store. Aside from anything above, it looks fantastic in our room.
