I should say, I was secretly happy when my cat knocked my electric can opener off of the counter and broke it. It took up too much space for no more than I used it. I got this little bit ofagic and once I got the hang of it, I loved it. It's so easy to twist and I love that the cans are left with a dull edge thay won't cut me. It's a bit awkward but after you open your first can with it, you'll be fine. The grips are soft and it doesn't require a lot of strength or pressure to work. Go ahead and buy one, you won't regret it.

OXO is a trusted brand, and my family has purchased OXO products for years. A simple can opener is no exception. We have had our OXO can opener for over 5 years now, and it's still going strong. It still opens cans with ease and is easy to use. The larger handles make gripping the can opener easier, and the larger twist knob is easy to hold, making opening cans a breeze. It does have a little bit of weight to it but I don't mind because I know it's good quality and will last a long time. I recommend OXO to anyone looking for kitchen products and utensils at a more affordable price but with high-end quality.

This tool is the best thing to have in your kitchen! I’ve had mine well over ten years and use it weekly. It’s extremely helpful to open so many jars, bottles, etc., and works with so many sizes. I even used it to help unscrew a tube of toothpaste!

Back in the 60's &70's my mom always had an electric can opener and was very satisfied with it, stating..." Why would anybody ever want to use a manual hand crank can opener when they could make their lives so much easier using an electric one". Through the years the electric can openers developed a great decline in dependibility, building up to complete frustration when it came time to the supposedly simple task of opening a can of food. In fact I'd reverted to hand crank and G.I. versions, swearing off electric can openers all together. I thought they didnt make GOOD electric can openers at any price anymore, till I discovered the Hamilton Beach Smooth Touch Can opener. Its very rare that I get excited about anything as simple as an electric can opener but I have to admit this can opener is impressive. The first time I used it I thought..Wait a minute here, this thing didnt work..where is the little metal wheel on the top and why didnt I see a puncture on the top of the can. Finally I pulled the can up by the top rim and, walla, It came off as clean as a whistle. Not only did it open the can cleaner and better than any can opener I ever tried before, You can put the lid back on and store it in the fridge! Never seen a can opener like this one.. No more frustration no more cut hands...Shop till you drop..Come back and buy the Hamilton Beach Smooth Touch Can Opener...You'll be impressed and so would Momma!!!

As an older person, I have found it more and more difficult to use manual can openers; however, I have consistently refused to buy an electric opener because the last one I had many years ago was difficult to use and often made a mess. That is not the case with this Cuisinart opener. It is so easy to use, hasn't messed up, hasn't failed to "catch," and has worked almost effortlessly every time. I was VERY skeptical about electric can openers and really didn't want one, but I'm so glad I agreed to try this one. It is nothing like older can openers, and I love it! No more aching hands from opening those huge cans of crushed tomatoes or those short, hard to manage cans of tuna. This is a marvelous can opener--I couldn't be more pleased!

This is only a three star review. Somehow the rating got fixed and won’t change. The unique opener is nice to have on hand but the material is very, very stiff. Once it is attached around a lid I can’t turn it. My husband can so I still have to ask him to help me. Phooey!

I’ve never had an electric can opener. I’m so happy with my purchase. I bought the white one. Easy to use, easy to clean. It’s lightweight and does not take up much space if you left it on the counter. The price is right also.
