Great for personal Smoothies.
The reviews of this product are not that great. Many people expressed issues with the cup leaking, the inability to add product once it’s put together, the inability to use the tamper when your product gets stuck, and the overall clunkiness of the product. I read where many people returned the item for these reasons. I really wanted the ability to make personal sized smoothies, and this would make it possible to do. Vitamix has a premium warranty and they stand behind their product. I decided to go ahead and get it knowing that if I had any issues I could just return it. I have made enough smoothies so far to justify the need for having this product and not return it. Initial thoughts: Initially I found my judgment and excitement was clouded by all of the negative reviews that I had read, but that changed as I used the product. The cup adapter is a little tricky to use, but after some trial and error it’s easier. I don’t like the big giant canister around the blade, it’s inconvenient, bulky and gets in the way of cleaning the rubber gasket and threads. I found that using a toothbrush works perfectly. If the cup is not screwed on correctly with the right amount of tightness it will leak. I recommend testing it over your sink in case it decides to leak. Reviewers also stated that the cup would come unscrewed during the blending process and begin to leak, however I have not had that experience. Once you figure out the correct amount of tension, it does not unscrew during the blending process, nor does it leak. Food waste - When the blending is complete, you turn the adapter so the cup is standing upright. This will allow some of the product to drip down into the cup and avoid possible spills when the cup is unscrewed from the adapter. There is still a good amount of product still underneath the blades and due to the design of the adapter it’s impossible to get the product out cleanly. So as far as food waste goes there is still a little bit of wasted product but that’s just me being picky. Milkshakes - I do not recommend making milkshakes in the PCA. The milkshake gets stuck and you have no way of moving the product around because you can’t use a tamper. I like Ascent series PCA better as it doesn’t have the giant canister around the blade, however that item does not fit my 7500 series machine. The instructions state that the cup, lid and the adapter are dishwasher safe. I have not needed to put the cup or the adapter in the dishwasher as I always rinse them out as soon as I’m done and then run the cleaning process on the machine. The lid has been through the wash and came out just fine. What it’s good for: Smoothies Frozen cocktails After some good use of this product, I have found that I really like it. Making personal sized drinks is really fun, and I am enjoying trying new recipes.

Retired Tritan container after 5 years
I received my 48 ounce container for the 5200 model in 2016. (The 5200 base unit had received occasional use from 2013-2015 with the 64 ounce container.) This 48 ounce container has a three year warranty. Prior to 2018, I used it several times a week, by which time it was discolored by the ribs after many mocha frappes. Beginning in 2018, I adopted a healthier diet. It received daily use in 2018-2019, and in the past year, I have used it 3-4 times per day for smoothies, shakes, supplement drinks, soups, spicy hot cocoa with homemade hempseed milk, gluten-free sweet potato bread dough, and beautifully emulsified salad dressings. Above the ribs, on the round 1/3 inside top of the container, I could no longer remove cocoa stains, even with scrubbing. I finally wore this container out. In the last two weeks, it didn’t spray from the top, but leaked slightly underneath at the bottom, and when cleaning the bottom outside of the container, I would discolor my dishcloth with a black substance that looked like the rubber bottom. So, if you buy a Tritan container, it won’t remain pretty, but it may well last longer than its guaranteed life. I hope this review gives someone an idea of how to budget for a replacement blender container. If looks are important, plan to replace it at least every two years. But If product utility and longevity is important, consider making a line item in your budget for a 54-60 month replacement schedule. As the base unit still works well, I upgraded to a stainless steel container which I received today, March 1, 2021. RIP, Tritan 48. (BTW, my 64 ounce container is still useful for larger blends, or for the very occasional batch of frozen margaritas, and for puréeing hot soups made in my Dutch oven. It is still pretty, but it spends most of its time in a cabinet). I am on a special diet, and I usually cook for one to two servings, unless I choose to refrigerate salad dressings or freeze meals for later.

Love this machine!
I received the nutribullet rx for my birthday in September and have used it daily for the past 3 weeks. My favorite thing about is the super blast soup making option. It makes delicious hot soups in 7 minutes and it's so piping hot tou have to blow on it before taking a spoonful. The other great feature about the soup option is making flavor packed soup based for soups n chowders I make on the stove top. I put ingredients that would normally go in the chunky soup I make on the stove and process ingredients in the nutribullet and it makes the most flavor packed and nutritious soup based to give homemade soups an extra blast of flavor that would be impossible to do without the nutribullet ex. I make delicious smoothies daily and have been enjoying trying different ice cream and sherbet recipes that amaze me that I am able to make at home. I love that I can make just enough icecream for a single serving for myself and not have a giant container if ice cream in the freezer that I cannot resist and eat to much of...the ice cream I make in My nutribullet rx are all fresh, more nutritious and better tasting than any other ice cream I have ever tried and knowing I can make it in less then a minute every night for dessert I am satisfied with just enough in a serving so I can stay on my healthy eating program. The garden cover recipe book has been such a life saver for me. I didn't have a way of making smoothies before so I wasn't familiar with what fruits n veggies work best together so this book gets used every day and has not failed yet in teaching me how to make the best smoothies I have ever tasted. Also the information about what plants and foods work to help different health issues is worth buying the book just for that info. All in all I would rate this as my best birthday gift ever and will continue to use it daily and have fun creating my own recipes. Also the wrench to remove or tighten the blade is perfect for me when my wrist are feeling arthritic or just to make sure I have the blade on tight enough and the blade is so easy to clean because the newer model is one piece unit so no messing with O rings or bacteria in blade mechanism.

Fantastic blender, good small basic food processor
I got this as a housewarming gift a little over three years ago. I’d had cuisinart food processors before, both mini-prep and full-size (9-cup), but I was outfitting a new small kitchen from scratch and didn’t currently have either a food processor or a blender, so I figured this would take care of both and have a small footprint, since counterspace is at a premium. Well, it performed very well in both roles, unlike many hybrid devices that don’t do either job really well. Granted, as a food processor it is limited by the smaller bowl size, but I live alone but have a tendency to prepare too much food so the size actually encouraged me to make smaller portions of things. It has the basic blades: cutting/mixing in the bowl, and then a disc (it rides on an add-on disc stem shaft, which is unfortunately easy to misplace) that grates in one position and slices when flipped over. Unlike Cuisinart’s full-size processors, no other accessories (like the thin-slice and thick-slice discs, or a plastic dough blade) are available for this model, but it was good enough for most basic work. The Duet really shines, however, as an outstanding blender. The heavy, thick glass jar is more indestructible than you might think a glass jar would be; I gasped a few times when my clumsy hands dropped it on the kitchen linoleum or in the metal sink, but was surprised each time to find it unscathed, without even a crack. (Nonetheless, neither I nor Cuisinart recommend dropping the jar). The base and top fit well so there is no leaking of liquids; the plastic inset in the top is easily removed to facilitate adding liquids during blending, which works really well for adding warm/hot oil for blender mayonnaise/hollandaise. Alas, I should have realized that the glass blender jar was much better suited to hollandaise making than the plastic food processor bowl, and either the hot oil or my dishwasher ended up distorting the center upright tube of the bowl that fits over the spindle, from circular to oval; the exterior circumference of the bowl warped ever so slightly too, making it just a bit harder to lock the lid in place to operate it. It still worked, but it was a bit more difficult to close and open the bowl. I figured if it got too bad I would just order a replacement bowl. However, I didn’t get a chance, because a little over three years after the purchase, the motor burned out. This was just beyond the warranty period, naturally. I didn’t realize that this model only has a three-year limited warranty with no extra years of protection for the motor, as most of Cuisinart’s full-size food processors do (one I am eyeing right now has a 5-year warranty for most things, with 10 years on the motor. Of course, those models are more expensive, with heavier-duty motors, and in all likelihood they will outlive even that more generous warranty — my mom had a bare bones 10-cup model hat lasted more than 20 years without a problem). Maybe I strained it too much trying to pulverize vegetables with pulpy, stringy stalks — I don’t remember if it was celery for soup or some herb — but if it had been one of their more standard food processors, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t have harmed it. So I’m torn now: should I limp along with a fairly decent blender (different brand) I got used cheap, and spend more for a 9-cup single-use processor, or get another Duet for $30 less? (I have spare blades/discs and blender jar in case of breakage/loss)

Smart and Sleek Blender!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is a lot to like about this blender! A few great features I noticed before even using it for the first time: - It is much better looking than the blender I am replacing. I would have no problem leaving this out on my counter which means I will probably use it more frequently for healthy shakes and smoothies for the family. - I LOVE that it comes with the single serve jar - this means I don't have to have a blender and a bullet both accessible as we often make only 1 serving at a time. - This was very easy to clean. It's nice that the blade assembly is one piece, meaning there is no separate small round seal to assemble, clean and keep track of. - This unit is very steady and stable. - I really like having the pour slot on the lid - The lid is a tight seal, and I feel comfortable letting my son pour without worrying that it will end up all over the counter :) My son and I used the blender to make smoothies (we used the recipe from the instruction book) and it worked great! It was definitely quieter than the blender I am replacing. We used the "smoothie" button and the blender did all the work for us. It came out perfect and was so easy, my son commented 'I can even do this by myself if I wanted'. I really like having fewer speeds, as I always just used the same few buttons on my old blender and I really like the three smart buttons it comes with. It takes any guesswork out of it. My only negative comment would be that the ingredient slot on the lid is not very big, and I think it would be a challenge to add anything that way... I don't tend to use the ingredient slot so it will not effect how I use the product. Overall, great blender, easy to use, sturdy and looks great! Excited to try it on soup next!

A great addition to the Pro 800!
I’ve been using a Blendtec blender for about 9 years and recently upgraded to the Pro 800. Then, I recently took the plunge and invested in the Twister jar. I now do all my morning smoothies in the Twister jar, using the gripper lid and not the Twister lid. I get one nice sized single serving where I used to get almost two with the Wildside jar, which was really a waste for my needs. It is just easier to get only a ‘single’ serving out of the Twister jar. It’s like having a big house (Wildside jar), it is easier to fill it with so much stuff! Well, today I finally ran out of almond butter that I had made with the Wildside jar and it was time to try making a nut butter with the Twister jar! Previously, I tried to make the nut butter with the regular jars including the Wildside and it would take 20 minutes of fussing, poking and prodding around to get a nut butter that was not very smooth in texture. Today, I roasted 1.5 cups of raw almonds for 15 minutes at 350F and let them cool a bit. I put them in the Twister jar without any added oil and used the slider control (on the Pro 800) to get medium high speed. I processed for 40 seconds but in that time I also reduced the speed a couple times, while turning the Twister lid counterclockwise. I ended up with a great smooth nut butter! I could probably have been done in 30 seconds as the nut butter was VERY smooth and very warm after 40 seconds. 30 seconds with the Twister jar compared to 20 minutes of fussing over and over and over with the regular jars? Yep, that’s for me. I'm sold, the Twister jar is great and a worthwhile investment for my needs! Note: my almonds were roasted and still warm when I put them in the Twister jar. I’ll try next time with raw and room temperature almonds. I’m surprised at the comments regarding problems making nut butters, but maybe the trick is to used roasted almonds? Remember, I didn’t use ANY added oil with my roasted almonds. Also, the Spectacula spatula is very handy for getting as much nut butter out of the Twister jar as possible. This tool comes with the Twister jar package. Another note, when I called Blendtec to ask about the Twister jar I was told that it would not fit under the Pro 800 sound enclosure, closed, while also using the Twister lid. In fact, it does fit with either the Twister lid or the gripper lid. However, so far I don’t see a need for using the Twister lid if the sound enclosure is closed as what would be point of using it if you cannot reach in and twist the lid? Perhaps using the Twister lid sporadically as the blender is running? It’s just not something I’ve done yet. Anyway, I’m VERY happy with the Twister jar so far.

Game-Changing Product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so pleased with my Braun food processor. Initially I was a bit skeptical about how much I would use it, but after trying it out I am motivated to make new things and cook more just to use it again! This comes in a fairly large box, which took me by surprise. I knew there were multiple parts to it, but seeing them all in front of me was a little overwhelming. It is really cool to see all the attachments but I have a small kitchen so thinking of where I would store them boggled my mind a bit. Thankfully, once you consolidate them to a cabinet they take up much less space than you think as you pull them all from the box. Unless you have literally no space left in your kitchen, you will be fine. Now, I made the mistake of pulling these all out and expecting to use them immediately with my food all prepped. Personally I think the instructions are very confusing about which attachments to use for which foods, and have a million images with no words packed into three pages for “convenience” perhaps. My partner didn’t think it was confusing at all, so to each their own. However, I would recommend sitting down with all these tools and the instructions and just getting a feel for how to put them together before jumping in and using them. Of course I have never used a product like this before so the more experienced chef would probably be fine. After I figured it out and used it, a few things stood out to me as amazing. First, I was concerned about the noise level. This thing is soooo quiet. It’s so wonderful! Of course noise level will depend on what you are blending/chopping, but it really increases or decreases depending on what’s in there. I was super pleased with this. Secondly, the button you push to operate it is super handy. The harder you push in, the faster it blends/chops. It doesn’t require much strength either, just a light touch. Third, there is a safety feature! This is so important for clumsy people and people with kids. You press in the top to unlock the unit for use. Super handy! The actual chopping/mashing/blending/etc use of this food processor is simply wonderful.Yes you need to either use smaller batches or occasionally push things down the sides of the bowl but I assume this is something required of all food processors. Overall it saves you so much time and is feels great to use. Cleanup is another notable benefit to this product. Because of the shape of the containers and the removable parts, this is easily washed once you are finished. I dread cleaning my blender and feared this would be similar but it is not. Honestly I’d rather clean this than a pot to cook noodles, that’s how easily it cleans up. Overall I would absolutely recommend this product. It makes me motivated to cook more just so I can pull it out and try a new attachment. It feels great in your hand and definitely has stepped up my cooking abilities! Great job making such an amazing product!

Finally...a quiet hand blender!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using another brand hand blender every day for the last six years. Its so very loud (bulletproof coffee), and difficult to remember the liquid I'm blending is less than half full in my coffee cup! The first time I tried the Braun blender, I was SO excited to hear such a quiet motor noise! The old one had only one speed...uber turbo! This one has 20+ different speeds and a separate Turbo speed button...perfect! The liquid doesn't go crazy, throwing coffee everywhere, and blends the coconut oil and half and half perfectly! It leaves a great "froth", for MUCH less than store-bought lattes. The instructions/options was pretty confusing - apparently this set didn't come with most of the accessories listed, and you can't tell which accessory might be available for the specific blender. The set was very well packaged, great color...but I wish the end of the blender attachment (opposite end from the blade itself) was sealed. The entire piece fills with water while washing..need to remember to pour it all out to avoid molding! (can't see thru the piece). Getting the blender attached to the motor, as well as removing it is a bit of a struggle, but I imagine it will ease up with regular use. I'm just thrilled that I can blend my coffee every morning without the awful noise...and it does a GREAT job combining the ingredients! Happy girl! :)
