I just laid them in the drawer of our liquor cabinet. It worked perfectly. I didn’t mount them because the weight of the bottles keep them in place. It came as a set of two and they kept sending me one. I’d return one and they’d order the replacement and still send me one wine rack. This was frustrating and has nothing to do with the wine rack. It comes in pieces that you stack together, it's quite sturdy once you have the weight of the wine bottles on it and easy to build and take apart since there are no screws or nails involved. I actually stained all the pieces to be a darker color and match my other furniture. I used this for a year or two before upgrading to an actual wine fridge though, because I don't have central AC and there is too much temperature fluctuation in my home for storing wine (especially in the summer, it gets wayyy too hot in my house for wine -- it HAS to be in a fridge).
