Had looked for a reasonably priced butter dish that was cobalt blue. Found one similar to this one at another store, but was more expensive. Liked the look of the speckled blue in the plate. However, when I received it, it is not very speckled - hard to notice and the cover is slightly lopsided so does not sit snugly on the plate. The plate also is very large. I was using a Fiesta butter dish and you can see the difference. However, have decided to keep it as it works well enough and does the job.. Stashagirl. Duluth Mn. Mon Sep 28 2020

The inside serving area is glazed for design compliment and easy cleaning. Pilar stoneware is manufactured from clay, quartz, and minerals such as calcite and is defined as a ceramic product. DOWAN Porcelain Butter Dish with Lid - Large & Deep - Say Goodbye to Small Butter Dish and Mess The DOWAN butter dish is large enough to fit a wide range of shaped sticks of butter. What's more, it holds 2 sticks of butter so one can be softening while you're using the other. The biggest frustration when using a regular butter dish is the butter easily sticks to the top of the lid and stay there when you pick up the lid. This causes a BIG MESS. Well, the deep design of the DOWAN Butter dish will help KILL the mess.
