We actually bought this to use as a stand for a large geode that we didn't want to have sitting flat on our new luxury-vinyl floors and risk it scratching/tearing them up, but we didn't want the board to stand out from the flooring. This one matches our floors almost perfectly, and it's heavy and stable enough to fully support the geode without worrying about it cracking under the weight (it's quite heavy) or shifting. First of all, the construction of this cutting board is A OK. It's a nice, thick, sturdy board and it's visually appealing which is great. The best part about it however is not its looks but its function; the board nests in the left side of the sink and is custom designed to fit snug so while you're chopping and dicing you can use both hands for the task and not have to use one hand to keep the board from sliding around. BRILLIANT. It's *not cheap* and at $50 I had to pause before I bought a replacement for the one that came with my sink 9 years ago.
