Brabantia Kitchen Trash Cans & Recycling

Brabantia’s NewIcon step can, 7.9 gallons (30L) has an iconic design and is a reliable worker too. Sturdy, and always stands strong because of its non-slip base and anti-tilting block. Thanks to the unique soft-closure feature, it closes smoothly. And of course, this NewIcon step trash can is hygienic, odor-proof, easy to open, and clean. Perfect for your kitchen or any other room that could use 8 gallons of timeless design.

I searched carefully for a trashcan that would both look good in the kitchen and be the right size for a small household (1- 2 people). This one is perfect. I chose platinum because I didn’t want it to be too shiny. It’s tall enough (26 inches) to hold a 13 gal., tall kitchen trash bag, but narrow enough (11.5 inch diameter) that I can still open my cabinets. (See photos.) The capacity is only 8 gallons, but if the bag has a drawstring, it’s easy to make a 13-gal. gal bag fit well. It comes with three 8-gal. bags, but I like to use bigger bags so that I can add other trash to it before I take it out.. Dee. IL. Thu Jul 02 2026

The newly designed lid of the touch-top trash can opens at the lightest touch, quietly and smoothly. It is seriously easy to open, and the removable inner bucket makes it even easier to change the Trash bags and clean. Matching perfect-fit trash bags are available - there’s even a free sample pack inside your new can- and you’ll get a 10-year guarantee too!

This garbage/recycling system is great. I had wanted a three bin unit but it would not ft with my plumbing. Now I'm happy this is the one that fit. The bins hold standard kitchen bags and are really deep. I'm surprised how much fits! I use the front for garbage and the back for bottles/cans etc. (I have a separate compost unit.) The rolling mechanism is really smooth and almost one finger efficient. The best part is when it is closed there is no smell from an open garbage. I would definitely recommend this unit.. Deborah. Great touch-top can, but finding the right bags can be tricky The touch-top mechanism has been very reliable and the lid closes quietly. I purchased the green and the color looks great in person—it’s nice to have a trash can that doesn’t look purely utilitarian. Changing the bag is easy, although finding bags that fit the shape and size well has been a little more difficult than expected. The 16-gallon capacity is plenty for our household, and so far we haven’t experienced any annoying quirks with the mechanism or design. Overall, it’s attractive, functional and very easy to use..
