I searched carefully for a trashcan that would both look good in the kitchen and be the right size for a small household (1- 2 people). This one is perfect. I chose platinum because I didn’t want it to be too shiny. It’s tall enough (26 inches) to hold a 13 gal., tall kitchen trash bag, but narrow enough (11.5 inch diameter) that I can still open my cabinets. (See photos.) The capacity is only 8 gallons, but if the bag has a drawstring, it’s easy to make a 13-gal. gal bag fit well. This under-sink pull-out trash can is great for keeping the trash out of sight while still having a lid. It was pretty easy to put together, but you do need an electric drill. Once installed, it slides smoothly and feels sturdy. I really like having the trash can out of the way but still covered. In apartments, mice and bugs tend to look for openings around sink pipes, and even storing recycling under there can draw them out.
