Alessi Kitchen Canisters & Jars

She was born in London in 1962 and studied at the Middlesex Polytechnic. She lives and works in Milan where she collaborated with Andrea Branzi before setting up her own studio, Zoo design. She is one of the founders of the Doc group.

The classic kitchen jar was reinterpreted by designer Mattia Di Rosa: rather than on the outside, the design here is to be found on the inside. With a strong pinch of irony, Di Rosa has created Gianni, the little man who clings to the lid. The hermetic jar is suddenly so much fun that you won't want to fill it.

I filled this with a huge batch of chili crisp sauce and gave it to my sister inlaw for xmas. It looked very cool and now she uses it to store snacks. The gift that keeps on giving. This big collection reveals one of the typical traits of Wanders’ language, where ancient shapes and style features are echoed in a contemporary interpretation. One distinctive detail of the biscuit box is the little bell on the inside of the lid that rings every time it is opened.

The Julieta kitchen boxes in glass and stainless steel for the kitchen are a homage to the characters from the novels of the Spanish poet Josep Vicenç Foix. In this object, the ambivalent detail, close to the designer's heart, is the relationship between the plain glass and the deformed lid.

The Circus series jars with hermetic lids can be used to store various food items, locking in all our freshness, aroma, and flavor.
