This cabinet is constructed of solid oak, hardwood, and oak veneers, with a clear chemical-resistant UV finish. The right-hinged doors have a lock that locks both right and left-hinged doors with a three-point locking system. The unit has two fixed shelves and four adjustable shelves. Shelves are 1"thick, and the weight capacity for each shelf is 40 lbs. per sq. ft.

While the design is classic for these cabinets, the multiple that were ordered for an education wing were all slightly off in alignment. The doors needed to be fixed and some of the backings need to be secured back on. Wayfair replaced 2 damaged in transit without any hassle. Love this shelf for our toddler's room. It's incredibly sturdy. Very easy for my to put together by myself, though an extra set of hands would have made it even easier. The shelves are at a fixed position. I think this is what makes it so sturdy, but a little bit of a bummer it's not adjustable. The height between shelves is a bit too short to store the traditional storage "cube" bins.
