These are high quality, expensive knives. Very well balanced and razor sharp out of the box. They feel really nice in your hand. It is thin behind the edge, but has enough blade stock to feel sturdy. They stick well to the magnetic board. The sharpener works really well (the water is a nice feature) and works much better than cheap sharpeners. We tried it on a super dull knife and it made it razor sharp in no time. Im sure the knives will wear and hold up nicely.

I have always wanted a Japanese style chef's knife and this with the magnetic holder is perfect. Looks great and is sharp enough to cut an orange in half with very little pressure. The wet stone guided sharpener worked great on an older knife which was attempted so I could review the sharpener as well and it worked great. No complaints and I recommend this product.

These knives are absolutely fantastic. Super sharp and absolutely beautiful. The stand looks incredible as well. There is also a catalog to order additional knives which is very convenient. I love the design of these! Much more hygienic than wooden handles.

Received my Global knife set today and I have to admit that I’m impressed with the magnetic easel. All my previous knife sets have come with a knife block, but I love how accessible the knives are with the easel. It has a modern and sleek look while still being functional. Also the easel takes up minimal space on the counter. The only drawback I see is that I’m not sure it will house as many knives as the block. As for the knives, I feel like they are on the lighter side but seem well made.

Knives arrived quickly. I ordered the black easel, but received a dark walnut wood, and I am not mad about that at all, this magnetic easel is GORGEOUS! And holds the knives securely. I've always purchased German knives, but these Japanese knives are awesome!! All one piece stainless steel, very light weight, fits nicely and well balanced in the hand and SHARP! I mean, REALLY sharp!!! I've not used the knife sharpener yet and I wish there was a magnet in the sharpener so that it can be placed on the easel along with the knives, I also wish there were instructions for using the sharpener. (I was able to find the on the Global Knives website) Two-stage, handheld ceramic water stone sharpener for a complete sharpening process. The first stage of sharpening, use the white coarse wheel to sharpen dull and chipped edges. The second stage, use the pink fine wheel for standard sharpening and polishing the blade edges. Even with the few missteps, I still give these 5 stars! (Also, I do not recommend putting them in a dishwasher! That can dull your knives fast)
