Even after airing out the room with the windows open for more than 24 hours, the smell remains overwhelming and is permeating beneath the closed door into my hallway and other rooms. The room is currently unusable. As a long-standing Wayfair customer, I have never experienced anything like this. Returning it would also be a tremendous hassle because I paid for professional assembly and would now need it disassembled and package item. I truly regret this purchase. Overall, it’s a cute daybed, but there are a few issues. First, the color is inconsistent. The front and sides of the bed are the same color, but the back is noticeably different, so the colors don’t match properly. Second, the backrest does not feel sturdy or well designed. When you sit on the bed and lean your back against it, there is a gap between the backrest and the wall. Because there is no support behind it, it feels like the backrest could crack or break in the middle if you lean against it. We had to shove the pillow in there to fill in the gap.This makes the design feel impractical and poorly constructed. This bed was just assembled this evening so I can’t attest to how well it holds up, but the assembly process was smooth and the bed feels like great quality.
